As well as continuing with our day to day work and home lives as best as we can, we have been racking our brains with ways to support our wonderful NHS.
We’ve already made the easy decision to donate 10% of all sales to the NHS Charities Covid-19 Appeal, but we asked ourselves where as a business we could make a physical contribution.
Between us we know a few healthcare professionals, and realised that now uniforms cannot be worn home they still need to transported safely to the washing machine, protecting the staff themselves and also their families. Some NHS staff have had no choice to use carrier bags, which have to go straight in the bin which is really not ideal for our refuse operatives or the planet.
We have decided to donate hundreds of our “Lucy” organic cotton drawstring bags to GP practices and A&E departments for this purpose. This way, uniform can be tipped straight into the drum and the bag can be washed at the same time.
